Italy proposes to introduce into each Regulation dealing with the type approval of lighting or light signalling devices a direct reference to the requirements contained in Regulations 48, 53 and 74, and 86, mandating the lamp manufacturers to apply them to obtain type approvals.

Japan proposes to include additional provisions in order to extend the applicability of the regulation to registration plates of different sizes used in non-European countries.
