Proposal from the GRSG task force on Automated Vehicles Regulation Screening to exempt ADS vehicles of subcategories X and Y from requirements related to the presence of a human driver and manual driving controls. The proposal permits X and Y vehicles to use alternative materials for windscreens given their 6 kph speed restriction. The proposal further permits translucence levels below 70% for ADS vehicles while an ADS feature is active (i.e., performing the DDT).

Proposal to resolve such an inconsistency with UN R125 to harmonize the location of the lower datum point (at 5°) of the angle of obstruction requirement in
paragraph 5.1.3. (at 4°).
