Proposal from the GRSG task force on Automated Vehicles Regulation Screening to exempt ADS vehicles of subcategories X and Y from requirements related to the presence of a human driver and manual driving controls. The proposal permits X and Y vehicles to use alternative materials for windscreens given their 6 kph speed restriction. The proposal further permits translucence levels below 70% for ADS vehicles while an ADS feature is active (i.e., performing the DDT). |
