Proposal to amend UN R127 to account for vehicles of category X equipped with an Automated Driving System. The Regulation, originally drafted for vehicles with driver and manual driving controls, is extended to vehicles without driver and without manual driving controls. For vehicles equipped with ADS, provisions related to driver/manual driving controls shall not apply if not already covered by this amendment. Amendments modify definitions of “Mass in running order” and “Normal ride attitude” and update ARHSS engagement provisions.
