GRE noted that, based on replies of the WP.29 subsidiary working parties (GRs), the Informal Working Group on Electronic Database for the Exchange of Type Approval Documentation (IWG DETA) had agreed not to pursue the Unique Identifier (UI) functionality in DETA. In the future, amendment proposals to Schedule 5 of the 1958 Agreement could be prepared that do not mention UI as a default option for UN Regulations.
