5. UN Regulations on Light Sources and the Consolidated Resolution on the Common Specification of Light Source Categories

13. The expert from the Task Force on Substitutes and Retrofits (TF SR) reported on their activities that address high power light-emitting diode replacement (LEDr) light sources (“LED retrofits”) based on “intelligent equivalence” and bi-directional emission (GRE-89-06). Specifically, he introduced an alternative equivalence specification for the light source H11_LEDr (GRE-89-05). The experts from France, Germany, United Kingdom and EC commented on the TF SR documents. GRE decided to continue the discussion at its next session.

14. The expert of GTB submitted editorial modifications to UN Regulations Nos. 37 (Filament light sources) and 128 (LED light sources) (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRE/2023/24 and ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRE/2023/25, respectively). The expert from IEC proposed a correction to the first document (GRE-89-20). GRE adopted the proposals and correction and requested the secretariat to submit them for consideration and vote at the March 2024 sessions of WP.29 and AC.1 as draft Supplement 49 to the 03 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 37 and draft Supplement 12 to the 00 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 128.
