Proposal to exempt any heaters (and not only combustion heaters as in the current text) located outside the passenger compartment and using water as a transfer medium are deemed to comply with the annexes on air quality and temperature.

52. The expert from France introduced ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRSG/2017/19, proposing an amendment to UN Regulation No. 122 on the application of the annexes for heaters located outside the passenger compartment and using water as the transfer medium. GRSG adopted the proposal and requested the secretariat to submit it to WP.29 and AC.1 as draft Supplement 4 to UN Regulation No. 122 for consideration at their March 2018 sessions.

52. The expert from France presented GRSG-112-10 aimed at clarifying the application of annexes on heaters located outside the passenger compartment and using water as a transfer medium. GRSG agreed to take a final position on this subject at its next session. Thus, the secretariat was requested to circulate GRSG-112-10 with an official symbol.
