Text adopted by the Working Party on General Safety Provisions (GRSG) at its 103rd session, clarifying the provisions on the aerostatic pressure during the external leakage test of Class 0 components. It is based on document GRSG/2012/17 as amended during that session.

01 series of amendments | Supplement 14 Based upon the adopted proposal: WP.29/2014/10

Proposal to introduce type-approval provisions for “valve control at stop-start” into the regulation on LPG equipment. The proposal would allow tank valves stay open in a commanded stop-start phase as is the case for the idling phase of non-stop-start vehicles. These provisions are similar to those for UN R110 on CNG vehicles.

Proposal to

  1. introduce new safety provisions with regard to LPG systems having hydraulic interconnections with the petrol or diesel fueling system through which inter-flows of fuels may occur,
  2. establish procedures for the approval of non-seamless gas tube(s), gas tube(s) made of materials other than copper, stainless steel, and steel with corrosion-resistant coating, and their couplings in Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) vehicles provided they can withstand the applicable tests according to Annex 15, and
  3. require marking or other means of approval identification on accessories of the container (multivalve or, when approved separately, pressure relief valve (discharge valve) and pressure relief device).

Proposal to define visibility requirements for external gas containers and their accessories to facilitate periodic inspections. From 1 September 2020, Contracting Parties may refuse approvals under the 01 series issued after 1 September 2020.
