RE5: Proposal for amendment 3 to the Consolidated Resolution on the common specification of light source categories (GTB)
GRE/2018/48
2018-08-15 |
Proposal to amend the light source category LR4. This proposal relates to document GRE/2018/49 proposing to amend UN R128 in relation to the 1 min/30 min ratio. The change to UN R128 would affect the requirements of the LR4 category which is not its intention. Therefore, the present proposal modifies the category sheet of LR4 in order to maintain the current requirements for the LR4 standard light sources. GTB |

UN R128: Proposal for Supplement [8] (GTB)
GRE/2018/49
2018-08-15 |
The current text of UN R128, Annex 4, paragraph 1.2. allows only for a decrease of luminous flux from 1 minute to 30 minutes. This has proven to be unnecessarily design restrictive as the drive electronics in a stabilized light source can lead to a slight increase in the luminous flux from 1 minute to 30 minutes. Therefore, this proposal would allow a limited increase of luminous flux from 1 minute to 30 minutes within the given minimum and maximum requirements. This proposal relates to document GRE/2018/48 retaining requirements for LR4 category light sources which would otherwise have been impacted by the present proposal. GTB |
