WP.29/2017/9: Proposal to amend Annex 7 and Annex 10. This proposal would:- change measurement units for drum speed in Annex 7 from min-1 to km.h-1 to align the requirements with other tyre regulations;
- correct the wording from “speed category symbol” to “speed symbol” (as defined in para. 2.33);
- correct the wording from “load capacity index” to “load index” (as defined in para. 2.32);
- correct a reference to para. 3.2.13. of the Regulation in Annex 7, Appendix 1;
- correct a boundary value of load index in Annex 7, Appendix 1;
- delete in paragraph 2.1 in Annex 7, the possibility to use the 2.0 m drum diameter to perform the endurance test.
In Annex 10, the proposal aligns the text with Annex 7 of UN R117, 02 series of amendments, Supplement 5.
The proposal would also clarify provisions for the minimum heights for markings for tyres with nominal rim diameter codes ≥ 20 and nominal section width ≤ 235 and for tyres with nominal rim diameter codes < 20 and nominal section width > 235. The proposal also corrects tables and figures for the use of lowercase letter to denote tyre dimension specifications.
With 34 of the 48 Contracting Parties applying UN R109 present and voting, AC.1 adopted document WP.29/2017/9 by a vote of 34 in favor, 0 opposed, with 0 abstaining.

83. The World Forum considered the draft amendments under agenda items 4.8.1 to 4.8.9 and recommended their submission to AC.1 for voting, subject to the following corrections:
In ECE/TRANS/WP.29/2018/53, page 2: for “Supplement 15” read “Supplement 16”,
In ECE/TRANS/WP.29/2018/59/Add.1, correct to read:
Insert the missing amendment to former paragraph 3.2.10, to read: "3.2.11. | An indication, by means of the “PSI” index (as explained in Annex 7, Appendix 2 to this Regulation) or in kilopascals (kPa), of the inflation pressure to be adopted for the load/speed endurance tests. This indication may be placed on one sidewall only." |
Annex 7, paragraph 1.3., amend to read: “1.3. | Inflate the tyre to the pressure corresponding to the indication on the sidewall as specified in paragraph 3.2.11. of this Regulation.” |
84. WP.29 referred informal documents WP.29-175-04 and WP.29-175-05 to the appropriate GR for further consideration.

WP.29/2018/59: In order to have a Regulation on the retreaded tyres with definitions and provisions structured in the same way of those previously introduced in amendments of "new tyres" Regulations, this amendment:- Indicates that for the purpose of this Regulation "tyres" means "pneumatic tyres", so all the text has been reviewed
- Introduces a definition of :
- "retreader” copy based on that “manufacturer" in the tyres regulations
- Brand name", "Trademark", "Trade description" and "Commercial name" as defined in the tyre regulations
- Material manufacturer / material supplier
- Takes into account the rounding rules (already approved in the other tyre regulations) for the calculation of width and diameter of the tyres
- Aligns the title and the provisions of the para. 12 related to the names and addresses of Technical Services, Approved Laboratories and administrative Department with their equivalent in the tyres regulations
