Proposal for Supplement 5 to the 04 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 46

Proposal to correct paragraph 16.1.3.1. as follows: “The minimum and the average magnification factors of the CMS, in both horizontal and vertical directions shall not be lower than the ~~minimum average~~ magnification factors indicated below.” The latter reference to “minimum average” should be deleted since the subsequent text provides the required minimum and average magnification factors. The proposal also corrects the cross-reference in paragraph 6.3.3.2. where “the test shall satisfy the conditions laid down in paragraph 6.1.3. of this Regulation” should refer to paragraph 6.1.1.3. and aligns the communication form with with the scope of the Regulation regarding vehicle categories (adding category L).

This proposal (WP.29/2017/113) was adopted by the World Forum. Thirty-four Contracting Parties out of the 45 applying UN R46 were present for the vote by AC.1. Thirty-four voted in favor with zero against and zero abstaining.
