Specific components of motor vehicles using compressed natural gas (CNG) and/or liquefied natural gas (LNG) in their propulsion system; II. Vehicles with regard to the installation of specific components of an approved type for the use of compressed natural gas (CNG) and/or liquefied natural gas (LNG) in their propulsion system. Proposal to correct the definition of “manual valve”, including deletion of the phrase “rigidly fixed to the cylinder or tank”. The definition of the manual valve as part of the accessories fitted to the container or tank (para. 4.16.) is different from the definition specified in paragraph 4.22. GRSG/2017/5 03 Feb 2017 Working Party Location and Identification of Hand Controls, Tell-tales and Indicators Hand Controls, Tell-tales and Indicators Uniform Provisions Concerning the Approval of Vehicles with regard to the Location and Identification of Hand Controls, Tell-tales and Indicators Proposal to align UN R121 with the 07 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 16:<ol class="alpha"><li>the term “seat belt” is replaced by “safety belt”,</li><li>the symbol for safety belt, defined in item 21 of Table 1 in the Regulation, may be displayed in different colours to convey different meanings. Therefore, the existing footnote 18 has been added to item 21, and</li><li>this symbol may be replaced by different symbols for seats other than those of the front row. Therefore, a new footnote 22 is added to item 21.</li></ol>In addition, paragraph 5.1.5. is modified and paragraph 5.1.7. introduced to take into consideration the content of GRSP/59, page 24, regarding paragraphs 8.4.3.2.1. and 8.4.4. on safety-belt reminders for occupants of rear seat row(s). This proposal does not change any of the technical requirements of UN R121. This proposal also aligns UN R121 with ISO 2575 per ISO Resolution 664 allowing for use of the diesel engine glow plug symbol with non-diesel technologies that (also) assist engine starting at low temperatures. The current text of the Regulation focuses on diesel engine glow plugs that assist in starting the engine at low temperatures. GRSG/2017/0005
