47. The expert from the Republic of Korea introduced document GRSG-131-08 on the activities of the IWG developing a new UN Regulation on Children Left in Vehicles (CLIVs) for vehicle categories M1, M2, M3 and N1, under the auspices of GRSP. He explained that the document was submitted to GRSG to assess interest among experts in participating in an online meeting to review the proposed requirements. The expert from OICA underlined that the work would mainly focus on M2 and M3 vehicles, in particular school buses. The expert from the Republic of Korea further noted that the scope of the draft UN Regulation should be clarified.

46. GRSG chair, on behalf of the expert from Australia who could not attend this meeting, introduced two proposals of corrigenda (GRSG-131-04 and GRSG-131-05) to UN Regulation No. 73 (Lateral Protection Devices), referencing errors within the existing technical requirements. GRSG endorsed in principle the proposals and requested the secretariat to distribute both proposals with an official symbol at its October 2026 session.

48. GRSG noted document GRSG-131-20, introduced by the secretariat, concerning an analysis of energy waste and CO₂ generation by insulated and poorly insulated or uninsulated vehicles, submitted by a private individual. GRSG agreed that the subject falls within the remit of the Working Party on Pollution and Energy (GRPE), which has already included it in its programme of work.
