Additional specifications include monitoring of DCAS operation with mandatory reporting of safety-critical occurrences to approval authorities, periodic reporting requirements with specific data collection metrics, and software identification and updating compliance with UN R156. The proposal also clarifies that DCAS is only permitted to operate when a driver is in control and that vehicles of categories X and Y without driver control capability are not required to comply with the regulation.
