Proposal to amend UN R158 based on GRSG-131-36. The supplement renumbers the introduction’s first paragraph to 0.1, describing the regulation’s purpose for rear visibility and detection devices. New paragraphs 0.2–0.2.3 address vehicles of categories X and Y, including exemptions for automated driving systems and manual operation modes. Paragraph 1.4 is amended to exempt category Y vehicles and category X vehicles without on-board manual modes. Amendments modify paragraphs 5.4.1, 12.4, 15.1.3, 15.1.4, 15.2.2, and Annex 9, paragraph 1.3.3.2, addressing safety concepts, rear-view field vision requirements, and vehicle load specifications. |
