29. The representative of Japan, Co-Chair of the IWG on Event Data Recorder and Data Storage System for Automated Driving (EDR/DSSAD), recalled the group’s mandate and work plan. He provided an update on the progress achieved (GRVA-24-12), noting that the DSSAD guidance had been transferred to Annex 6 (GTR) or Annex 8 (UNR) of the ADS Regulation. He added that the two remaining items were expected to be resolved before the June 2026 sessions of GRVA and WP.29. He also informed GRVA that the secretariat position of the group remained vacant.
30. The representative of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland emphasized the importance of completing the remaining items. The representative of OICA supported this view. The representative of Sweden asked whether it was envisaged to align the DSSAD provisions in UN Regulation No. 157 with the most recent provisions developed by the IWG on EDR/DSSAD.
31. GRVA endorsed the status report (GRVA-24-12) on the activities and deliverables of the IWG on Event Data Recorder / Data Storage System for Automated Driving (EDR/DSSAD) and looked forward to receiving the final version of the DSSAD provisions for the UN GTR and the UN Regulation on ADS for review at the next session.
