14. UN Regulation No. 129 (Enhanced child restraint systems)

31. The expert from the Kingdom of the Netherlands presented ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRSP/2025/31 to clarify that the removal of an insert may also trigger additional tests with alternative dummy statures and to delete the Unique Identifier (UI) descriptions (see ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRSP/77, paragraph 48). GRSP adopted ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRSP/2025/31 and requested the secretariat to submit it as a proposal for supplement 4 to the 04 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 129 to the June 2026 sessions of WP.29 and AC.1.

32. The expert from CLEPA reintroduced informal document GRSP-77-25 on head acceleration requirements and following the feedback received announced his intention to submit a modified proposal as a working document to the next session.

33. The expert from the Kingdom of the Netherlands informed GRSP that a group of interested experts had met 2 weeks before at the offices of the European Commission to discuss the topic of child restraint systems using electronic components and that they would meet again to continue discussing this topic together with other topics related to child restraint systems. He invited experts interested in participating to contact him.

34. The expert from the Netherlands introduced informal document GRSP-78-47-Rev.1 amending ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRSP/2025/32 to improve the shoulder height requirements to properly take into account the dimensions of premature newborns. On a question from the expert from CI about practical implementation details, the expert from the Kingdom of the Netherlands replied that this matter was expected to be discussed by the same group of experts which would be discussing child restraint systems using electronic components (see paragraph above). GRSP adopted informal document GRSP-78-47-Rev.1, as amended, (as reproduced in annex VI) and requested the secretariat to submit it as a proposal for the 05 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 129 to the June 2026 sessions of WP.29 and AC.1.
