48. The GRVA Chair reported on the results achieved by GRVA during its twenty-second session (see ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRVA/22 for further details).

49. WP.29 noted that GRVA prepared amendments to Annex 7 of the Consolidated Resolution R.E.3.

50. WP.29 welcomed the report received on the outcome of the informal part of the twenty-second session of GRVA held in Bangkok on 2-5 June 2025 and noted the excellent opportunities provided for exchange and notworking with the experts from the Global Forum for Road Traffic Safety (WP.1), as supported by the Inland Transport Committee (ITC).

51. WP.29 commended the coordination work of the GRVA leadership and secretariat for organizing exhibitions and demonstrations with twenty vehicles, including nine technology demonstrations on public roads, with the support from Thailand and OICA.

52. WP.29 also welcomed the fruitful exchange of GRVA with the Asia and Pacific region during capacity building activities to present the UNECE’s work on vehicle regulations, the three Agreements under the purview of WP.29 and some country interventions. For example, the GRVA Vice-Chair (from Japan) explained the activities and importance of 1958 Agreement and the representative of Canada provided insights into the road safety situation in their country and the importance of the 1998 Agreement which they are signatory to, while still benefiting from and contributing to the deliverables under the 1958 Agreement. WP.29 noted the presentations made by ESCAP on their activities on road safety projects in the region, motorcycle ABS and one project on policies for Automated Vehicles.

53. WP.29 noted the offer of Canada to host the May 2026 session of GRVA in Canada.
