Fitness of UN GTRs and UN Regulations for ADS
22. The representatives of France, Co-Chair of the Task Force on the Fitness of UN Regulations and UN Global Technical Regulations for ADS (TF on FADS), presented the status report of the task force (GRVA-23-35). He introduced the formal amendment proposals to UN Regulations Nos. 13, 13-H and 79, as well as amendments to UN Regulations Nos. 89, 90, 130, 131, 139, 140 and 152, combined in one document (GRVA-23-17) to save costs.
23. GRVA adopted the three official documents as amended and requested the secretariat to distribute the following documents for consideration and vote at the June 2026 sessions of WP.29 and AC.1:
24. GRVA requested the secretariat to distribute GRVA-23-17 with an official symbol at the next GRVA session.
25. GRVA endorsed the status report of the Task Force and encouraged the experts to also review, as appropriate, UN GTR No. 8 as well as UN Regulations Nos. 175 and 178.
Vehicle subcategories for ADS
26. The representative of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland recalled the submission of amendments to the Consolidated Resolution R.E.3 and the Special Resolution S.R.1 to WP.29 for consideration at the November 2025 WP.29 session.
Exchange of views on scenarios
27. The representative of France reported (GRVA-23-13) on the outcome of a workshop on scenarios held in Paris (France) on 8-10 September 2025, which identified two main topics of interest:

GRVA endorsed the summary and agreed with the experts’ recommendation that future work should focus towards developing a common resource under WP.29 or GRVA facilitating the implementation of regulations for ADS and ADAS through information sharing. GRVA noted that the next workshop would be held in Paris on 25-26 November 2025.
