8. (b) Electromechanical Brakes

GRVA agreed to review a revised proposal for amendments to UN Regulation No. 13 with provisions relevant for the type approval of ElectroMechanical Brakes (EMB), tabled by the expert from the European Association of Automotive Suppliers (CLEPA).

GRVA agreed to review a proposal tabled by the expert from the International Motorcycle Manufacturer Association (IMMA) aimed to align UN Regulation No. 78 with the latest amendments to UN Regulation No. 13-H regarding the deceleration thresholds for the activation of the stop lamp(s) under regenerative braking.

GRVA may wish to review a proposal for amendments to UN Regulation No. 78, tabled by the expert from IMMA, to ensure the continuity of the ASTM Method E1337 for the measurement of the peak braking coefficient (PBC) in UN Regulation No. 78, by introducing a reference to the new ASTM Standard Reference Test Tyre F2493.

13. Human Rights considerations impacting GRVA activities

GRVA agreed at its tenth session, following the Resolution of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) calling GRVA to perform a Human Rights Impact Assessment related to its activities, to collect existing material related to Automated/Autonomous and Connected Vehicles and their potential impact on Human Rights. (GRVA discussed that a compendium of existing material could be shared with the PACE).

14. Election of Officers

In compliance with Rule 37 of the Rules of Procedure (TRANS/WP.29/690 as amended), GRVA will elect the Chair and Vice-Chair(s) of the sessions scheduled for the year 2022.
