Proposal to clarify that parts made of plastic glazing are required to undergo the tests described in Annexes 6 to 8 (testing to determine, respectively, the horizontal burning rate, melting behavior, and vertical burning rate of materials) of the Regulation. The clarification is to avoid misinterpretations that could lead to exemptions and therefore constitute a risk to safety.

Proposal to evaluate and develop the opportunity to increase the safety of M2 and M3 vehicles in case of fire, by allowing the manufacturer to use the existing requirements of UN R118 to other vehicle classes, therefore improving the requirements related to the behaviour of the materials used in those vehicles.
