The LKAS ad hoc group was created in November 2013 to discuss technical requirements for lane-keeping assist systems and to develop recommendations for GRRF consideration on any further actions (regulatory or guidelines).

This group discusses emerging automated driving technologies, but does not have a mandate to develop specific regulatory texts. The agreement to form the group was predicated upon the limitation of its work to the development of recommendations only.
