Proposal to introduce requirements for the post-crash safety of hydrogen-fuelled vehicles based on the Amendment 1 to UN GTR No. 13 (Hydrogen and Fuel Cells Vehicles).
64. Under agenda items 7, 12, 14 and 16 (see paragraphs 22, 35, 37 and 41), the expert from OICA introduced GRSP-72-34 to incorporate provisions on hydrogen fuelled vehicles into UN Regulation No. 94 and to harmonize this UN Regulation with UN GTR No. 13, Amendment 1. GRSP requested its experts to provide feedback on GRSP-72-34 to the expert from OICA before the deadline for submission of official documents for its May 2023 session.

GRSP resumed discussion on a revised proposal tabled by the expert from OICA to incorporate provisions on hydrogen-fuelled vehicles into UN Regulation No. 94, to harmonize UN Regulation No. 94 with UN GTR No. 13, Amendment 1 (GRSP-73-34 superseding ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRSP/2023/22). GRSP adopted ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRSP/2023/22 as amended by annex V to the session report. The secretariat was requested to submit the proposal as the draft 05 Series of Amendments to UN Regulation No. 94 for consideration and vote at the November 2023 sessions of WP.29 and AC.1.
