The expert from Japan, Chair of the IWG on VRU-Proxi, presented GRSG-118-05, which contained proposed amendments to ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRSG/2020/4, the proposal for a new UN Regulation on the approval of devices for reversing motion and motor vehicles with regard to the driver’s awareness of vulnerable road users behind vehicles. The Chair of GRSG recalled that proposals for a new UN Regulation on uniform provisions concerning the approval of devices for reversing motion and motor vehicles with regard to the driver’s awareness of vulnerable road users behind vehicles (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/2020/121) and for a new UN Regulation on uniform provisions concerning the approval of motor vehicles with regard to the Moving Off Information System for the Detection of Pedestrians and Cyclists (Moving Off Information Systems (MOIS)) (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/2020/122) would be considered by WP.29/AC.1 at its November 2020 session.
