Proposal to introduce new and modified labeling and to clarify packaging information to distinguish between forward-facing-only, rear-facing-only, and convertible CRS in order to reduce the risk of users misusing these enhanced CRS.
36. GRSP noted GRSP-63-09 which stresses the need that certain information for users be clearly displayed. GRSP agreed to resume discussion on this subject on the basis of a revised proposal by the expert from CLEPA. GRSP also noted GRSP-63-27 on clarifying the definition of “infant carrier” and GRSP-63-30 on clarifying that extensions of type approvals to the 02 series of amendments shall continue to be granted. GRSP agreed in principle on both proposals and requested the secretariat to distribute them with an official symbol at the December 2018 session of GRSP.

The expert from CLEPA introduced ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRSP/2018/24 to clarify the definition of “infant carrier” and ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRSP/2018/28 to clarify that certain user information was displayed sufficiently. The expert from Spain introduced GRSP-64-28 to improve the consistency of the information. GRSP adopted ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRSP/2018/24 and ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRSP/2018/28 as amended by Annex V to the session report.
