Proposal to establish a new Amendment to UN Global Technical Regulation No. 25 on in-vehicle battery durability for electrified heavy-duty vehicles. The GTR provides harmonized methods to determine battery durability performance of HD-PEVs and HD-OVC-HEVs, including requirements for State of Certified Energy (SOCE) monitors, minimum performance requirements expressed as SOCE values at specific vehicle lifetime points, and in-use verification procedures with Parts A and B to verify monitor accuracy and battery durability compliance respectively. The document includes test procedures for usable battery energy determination via driving on test tracks, road driving, bidirectional power supply systems, or chassis dynamometer testing, family definitions for monitor and battery durability verification, vehicle survey requirements, and data collection specifications.
Proposal to amend UN GTR No. 22 by:
Presentation proposing an AI Management System (AIMS) as a complementary organizational layer to existing safety, cybersecurity, and software update management systems. AIMS would regulate AI through organizational processes rather than technical requirements, covering data lifecycle, model development, verification and validation, change control, and operational monitoring. The system is technology-neutral, lifecycle-based, and aligned with industry standards including ISO 26262, ISO 21448, and ISO/IEC 42001, avoiding the need for product-specific AI test procedures and re-approval of model updates.
Document presents Euro NCAP test methodology for passenger cars using increasing speeds up to 50 km/h for stationary vehicle targets with nominal and offset impacts, and up to 60 km/h for crossing pedestrian targets at 25% and 75% impact positions. Each test run generates individual scores with no requirement for specific avoidance speeds. Results indicate all tested cars avoided full overlap collisions up to 50 km/h relative speed over the last three years, and majority of recently tested vehicles should avoid crossing pedestrian accidents up to 60 km/h daytime and 50 km/h nighttime, though results are not directly transferable due to different testing methods.
JRC proposes three amendments to UN R152 and UN R131: increase crash avoidance speed to 50 km/h for all scenarios (car-to-car, car-to-pedestrian, car-to-bicycle); increase offset to 50% overlap; and discuss adding standing still pedestrian and bicycle scenarios. Evidence from market-surveillance testing shows current systems already meet the 50 km/h requirement in nearly every test and perform well at 50% overlap. Urban speed limits in 75.9% of R152 applying parties are 50 km/h baseline. Approximately 22% of relevant M1 crashes involved less than 50% overlap.
Draft agenda for the fourth session of the Informal Working Group on Advanced Emergency Braking System, to be held 2–4 November 2026 in Tokyo. The meeting will address approval of the agenda and previous report, exchange of positions on requirements in principle, draft state-of-the-art performance requirements for collision scenarios involving pedestrians at night including test procedure and accidentology, nominal avoidance speed and current AEBS status, and conclusion for discussion of performance requirements.
The meeting will address drafting of the new 03 series of amendments, with participants to review and discuss sections 1 to 12 of the draft R40.03, covering scope, definitions, application for approval, approval, specifications and tests, modification of vehicle type, extension of approval, conformity of production, penalties for non-conformity, production discontinuation, technical services details, transitional provisions, and appendices. The base document for drafting is EPPR-73-02.
Pursuant to the decision to delete the phrase "last column of the table” from paragraph 6.1.6. in Regulation No. 7 following changes to the structure of this table, this proposal would delete the same phrase from paragraph 6.1.2. in Regulation No.6.
