19. The expert from IMMA presented GRRF-79-16, proposing Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) requirements to be introduced in Regulation No. 78. The proposal received some comments. The expert from EC recommended to consider the existing wording applied to other vehicle categories (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRRF/2013/13). The expert from IMMA volunteered to prepare a revised proposal for the September 2015 session of GRRF.
20. The expert from EC introduced GRRF-79-16, proposing to apply to tricycles the existing Anti-lock Braking Systems (ABS) requirements for Powered Two Wheelers (PTWs). The proposal was accepted in principle as it proposed a harmonization with the corresponding EU directive. As the proposed wording would also affect other L-category vehicles, the expert from EC volunteered to prepare a revised proposal for the September 2015 session of GRRF.
22. The expert from EC introduced ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRRF/2015/42, proposing to apply to tricycles the existing Anti-lock Braking Systems (ABS) requirements for Powered Two Wheelers (PTWs). The proposal was accepted in principle as it proposed a harmonization with the corresponding EU directive. As the proposed wording would also affect L6 and L7 category vehicles, some experts were of the opinion that transitional provisions would be necessary. The expert from EC volunteered to prepare a revised proposal for the February 2016 session of GRRF.
22. The expert from EC recalled the purpose of ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRRF/2015/42, proposing to apply to tricycles the existing Anti-lock Braking Systems (ABS) requirements for Powered Two Wheelers (PTWs). The experts from IMMA and OICA agreed with the proposal. GRRF adopted the proposal and requested the secretariat to submit it to WP.29 and AC.1 for consideration at their June 2016 sessions, as part of the Supplement 3 to the 03 series of amendments to Regulation No. 78.
59. Agenda item 4.9.8, Regulation No. 78, ECE/TRANS/WP.29/2016/56, amend to read:
Page 3, the proposed insertion of a new paragraph 5.1.16, shall be deleted.
Page 4, the proposed amendment to paragraph 9, shall be deleted.
