26 Jul 2017 2017-08-24 13:38:12 UTC 6 2 04 series of amendments | Supplement 4 Based upon the adopted proposal: WP.29/2016/89

Proposal to change the latency for scanning a field of vision (total process of scanning, rendering and reset to its initial position) from a maximum of 2 seconds to a maximum of 200 ms. This proposal corresponds to the current state of technology and removes a contradiction within the regulation between paragraphs 6.2.1.2. and 6.2.2.3.4.3. (the latter introduced via supplement 2 to the 04 series of amendments).

UN R46 | Revision 6 | Amendment 3 (2018)

Proposal to correct paragraph 16.1.3.1. as follows: “The minimum and the average magnification factors of the CMS, in both horizontal and vertical directions shall not be lower than the minimum average magnification factors indicated below.” The latter reference to “minimum average” should be deleted since the subsequent text provides the required minimum and average magnification factors.

The proposal also corrects the cross-reference in paragraph 6.3.3.2. where “the test shall satisfy the conditions laid down in paragraph 6.1.3. of this Regulation” should refer to paragraph 6.1.1.3. and aligns the communication form with with the scope of the Regulation regarding vehicle categories (adding category L).

24 Jun 2019 2020-01-06 11:52:28 UTC 6 4 04 series of amendments | Supplement 6 Based upon the adopted proposal: WP.29/2018/123

Proposal to clarify that overlays may only be used to convey “safety-related rearward vision information.” The proposal addresses confusion regarding circumstances under which the provision of information through overlays is permissible. The proposal also amends the French text. The overall proposal aims to make clear that overlays may convey safety information regarding the rearward environment of the vehicle and are not necessarily limited only to when the vehicle is moving in reverse. The proposal also aims to restrict the information to rear-vision safety. Other information, not related to the rear view, should never appear within the defined field of view. The proposal also corrects the omission of Class VII devices from the communication form described under Annex 3 of the regulation, as previously adopted for Revisions 5 and 6.
