CEMA is the European association representing the agricultural machinery industry for more than 50 years. CEMA constitutes a network of national associations and provides services, advice and a common European industry view on relevant topics.
Topics include the different technical legislation such as tractor type approval, braking, harmonization of road requirements, or emissions and also general issues like sustainability and economic performance.
Some 4 500 manufacturers, representing a turnover of around EUR 28 billion (2008), operate in the agricultural machinery sector. 135 000 people work in this sector and a further 125 000 people work in distribution and maintenance.
