The Motor Transport Institute (Instytut Transportu Samochodowego or ITS) is a scientific research establishment which deals with the organisation, functioning and effectiveness of road transport, including road safety.

The ITS realizes many national and international research projects on such safety issues as speed, young drivers, alcohol and drugs. Special attention is given to the popularisation of issues related to road safety and to the results of projects done in Poland and abroad through seminars, publications and media campaigns.
