WP.29/2017/11: Proposal to allow for the approval of speedometers and odometers that enable drivers to display figures either in km/h or mph (but not both simultaneously). The proposal also clarifies the application of the provisions across the category L vehicle subcategories. With 36 of the 45 Contracting Parties applying UN R39 present and voting, AC.1 adopted document WP.29/2017/11 by a vote of 36 in favor, 0 opposed, with 0 abstaining.

WP.29/2022/21: Proposal to specify "The odometer shall display the distance in the unit corresponding to that of the predominant speedometer scale. If a setting makes it possible for the driver to select the odometer display distance in km or miles independently of the speedometer, the odometer shall identify the unit used." With 35 of the 48 Contracting Parties applying UN R39 present and voting, AC.1 adopted document WP.29/2022/21 by a vote of 35 in favor, 0 opposed, with 0 abstaining.

WP.29/2025/18/Rev.1: Proposal to amend and extend the existing requirements for odometers to include provisions on:- accuracy of the on-board odometer mileage values,
- anti-tampering of the on-board odometer mileage values and
- accuracy and anti-tampering of the odometer mileage values displayed to the driver.
