The World Forum considered the proposals and recommended their submission to AC.1 for voting.

WP.29/2019/125: Proposal from the Simplification of Lighting Regulations informal group to delete the luminous intensities minimum requirements for the measuring point 50L (which are not in UN R112 and therefore should not be in UN R149) from Table 8 and to correct a typo in the angular position for S100RR in Table 13. Given its urgency, the proposal has been submitted in parallel for GRE consideration (GRE-82-02). With 40 of the 55 Contracting Parties applying UN R149 present and voting, AC.1 adopted document WP.29/2019/125 by a vote of 40 in favor, 0 opposed, with 0 abstaining.

8. GRE was informed that the three new simplified UN Regulations Nos. [148] on Light-Signalling Devices (LSD), [149] on Road Illumination Devices (RID) and [150] on Retro-Reflective Devices (RRD) were expected to enter into force on 15 November 2019. GRE noted that IWG SLR had identified errors inadvertently introduced in the text of the new UN Regulation No. [149] and that a correction had been submitted to the WP.29 session in November 2019 (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/2019/125, GRE-82-02). GRE supported the correction.
69. The World Forum considered the draft amendments under agenda items 4.6.1 to 4.6.15 and recommended their submission to AC.1 for voting, subject to the following modifications: - Item 4.6.3, document ECE/TRANS/WP.29/2019/81, last page, Table A2-1, line “Rear position pair (MR)”, replace “15°/15°” with “15°/10°”.
- Item 4.6.5, document ECE/TRANS/WP.29/2019/125, amend the title to read “Supplement 1 to the original series of UN Regulation No. [149] on Road Illumination Devices (RID)”.

13. The expert of IWG SLR also presented clarifications and corrections to the text of the draft 01 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 149 (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRE/2022/4). GRE adopted the document and requested the secretariat to submit it for consideration and vote at the June 2022 sessions of WP.29 and AC.1 as an informal document to correct the draft 01 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 149 (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/2022/93). GRE recalled a question raised by the expert from Germany concerning footnote (a) to paragraph 5.2.2. in the draft 01 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 149 (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRE/85, paragraph 14) and noted that it had been clarified by IWG SLR.

GRE/2024/7: Proposal to clarify the measurement of the quality of the "cut-off".

GRE/2024/8: Proposal to clarify the markings. Some countries and regions refer to the requirements of the 00 series of amendments to UN R149, or to older regulations. In order to avoid the redundant burden to mark the symbols of both the 00 and 01 series on the lamp (e.g., “HCR” or “HR and C”), the proposal would allow for consistency of the symbols between the 00 and the 01 series of amendments. UN R149 also includes passing-beam requirements designed to provide symmetrical “cut-off” line: the proposal introduces examples in Annex 13.
