Minutes of the eleventh meeting of the IWG on EV/HFCV Retrofit Systems held on 9 September 2026. The group adopted the provisional agenda and reviewed the draft UN Regulation on EV/HFCV retrofit systems. Key discussions addressed the regulatory concept for approval of the Electric Powertrain Retrofit System combined with installation requirements and vehicle testing, vehicle scope including possible exclusion of older vehicles and those subject to UN Regulations Nos. 155 and 156, and confirmation that HFCV provisions would remain as placeholders for later development. The updated working document will be circulated before submission to GRPE in October 2026.
Draft agenda for the 52nd session of TFTA on 8 and 9 October 2026 in Brussels and remotely. The main target of the meeting is brainstorming on C3 test method. Discussion items include framing the C3 challenge, C3 tyre segmentation to categorise diverse tyre groups and duty cycles into manageable regulatory groups, methodological ideation for simplified C3 testing approaches, and funding and resource allocation. Additional items include C1 outcome discussion with Korean test centers regarding circuit SRTT abrasion level range and C2 status on ongoing test campaign.
The document describes a project to identify Advanced Emergency Braking Systems (AEBS) performance gaps by analysing real-world collision data from UK national research and police databases. The study characterised collision cases against the requirements of UN Regulation No. 152, using STATS19 and RAIDS data sources. Cases were filtered for eligibility, then scored against current test scenarios using weighted collision characteristics including subject vehicle speed, target vehicle speed, relative speed, ambient light, and overlap. Results indicate the coverage provided by relevant test scenarios and identify which characteristics may address gaps in AEBS operational performance.
Provisional agenda for the first session of the Informal Working Group on Prioritization. The IWG will adopt its agenda, review context from WP.29-199 including the inception report, discuss draft terms of reference distinguishing final objectives such as improvements in safety, emissions, and security from proposed means to achieve them, consider reference documentation from WP.29 and related agreements, discuss prioritization by consolidating a numbered list of all Global Technical Regulation priorities for ranking by WP.29 members to identify common agreement and potential work items to pause, decide on a list of actions with assigned tasks and deadlines, and schedule the next meeting.
Final draft proposal to amend para. 1.4. to clarify that recording requirements depend on availability of the trigger or data element itself, amend para. 5.3.1.2. to permit the EDR to write last stop trigger data in volatile memory only, accommodating at least five most recent stops to be overwritten on a first-in first-out basis until any other trigger occurs or the vehicle master control switch is deactivated, and amend paras. 2.5., 2.48. and 2.49. for clarity and consistency with UN Regulation No. 160.

The agenda covers adoption of the agenda, approval of minutes from the previous meeting, coordination and organization of work, power determination and battery range, UN draft documents, and any other business, with the next meeting scheduled for 8 October 2026.
Presentation of traffic accident data for car-to-pedestrian collisions occurring at night in Japan. Approximately 65 to 70 per cent of traffic accidents for car to pedestrian in Japan occur at night-time. The data cover the 10-year period from 2015 to 2024 and analyse obstruction, pedestrian direction of crossing, collision point, walking speed, and age. Seventy per cent of pedestrians cross from the right at night. Accidents involving children aged 12 and under are extremely rare. Vehicle speeds range from 30 km/h to 60 km/h without obstruction and 40 km/h to 50 km/h with obstruction. The proportion of passenger cars equipped with AEBS night-time is approximately half.
