Based upon a proposal from OICA (WP.29/2012/116), this text was adopted by the Working Party on Pollution and Energy (GRPE) at its 65th session in order to transpose into international legislation Directive 2005/64/EC and Directive 2009/1/EC concerning the type-approval of motor vehicles with regard to their reusability, recyclability and recoverability.
