Proposal to introduce new 04 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 154 establishing uniform provisions for approval of light-duty vehicles regarding emissions, carbon dioxide, fuel consumption, and electric energy consumption and range, adding requirements for State-of-Certified Range and State-of-Certified Energy monitors, Minimum Performance Requirements for batteries of OVC-HEV and PEV vehicles of categories M1 and N1, verification procedures for battery durability compliance, low temperature electric range testing, and updated On-Board Fuel Consumption Monitoring provisions, organized into three approval levels designated Level 1A, Level 1B, and Level 2, with Level 1A and Level 1B covering regional requirements not requiring mutual recognition and Level 2 containing harmonised procedures subject to full mutual recognition by all Contracting Parties. |

UN R154 specifies unique identifiers for vehicle families in the format FT-nnnnnnnnnnnnnnn-WMI, where FT designates family type: IP for Interpolation family, RL for Road load family, RM for Road load matrix family, PR for Periodically regenerating systems family, AT for ATCT family, EV for Evaporative emissions family, DF for Durability family, OB for OBD family, ER for Exhaust after-treatment system using reagent family, GV for Gas Fuelled Vehicle family, KC for KCO₂ correction factor family, RT for Low temperature range family, MF for Monitor family, BD for Battery Durability family, VD for virtual distance family, and LP for Lower limit pressure family. The document establishes reporting requirements for fuel consumption, electric energy consumption, and fuel efficiency for various vehicle types including OVC-FCHVs and NOVC-FCHVs, with driving range of hydrogen calculated according to specified procedures. |
