GRSP may wish to be informed about the work of the Task Force on Emergency Door Opening (TF-EDO) since its creation in the previous session of GRSP.

During the March 2026 session of WP.29, the Vice-Chair of GRSP informed WP.29 that the work in TF-EDO was progressing fast and that it had decided at its last meeting to request the Executive Committee of the 1998 Agreement (AC.3) for authorization to amend UN Global Technical Regulations (GTR) and to request WP.29 and AC.3 to be upgraded from a Task Force to an Informal Working Group. Several delegates expressed support for the work of the task force, agreed on its importance and urgency and looked forward to receiving the formal request in the next session of WP.29.
