58. The Chair introduced GRBP-83-39. The representative of the World Blind Union showed appreciation to the initiative about soft horn. He invited soft horn to compliment AVAS, and not to replace it. The Chair indicated discussions were still on-going, reminding about the frequent misuse of horns in urban environments.

59. The representative of the Russian Federation introduced GRBP-83-27. The Chair reflected on the lag between the 02 and 03 series of amendments to UN Regulation No.51 and wondered if the 02 series of amendments could be amended. The Vice Chair informed that transitional provisions in the 03 series of amendments to UN Regulation No.51 allowed for extension of approvals according to the 02 series of amendments to UN Regulation No.51. The secretariat informed that Revision 3 of the 58 Agreement allowed for former series of amendments to be used by any interested contracting parties, but that these were not subject to mutual recognition.

60. The Chair invited to continue discussion on this topic at the next session of GRBP.
