35. The expert from OICA presented a status report from the Task Force on Hydrogen Regulations (TF-H2) (informal document GRSP-78-14-Rev.2). She recalled that liquefied hydrogen storage systems (LHSS) would be incorporated into the framework of the 1958 Agreement with a new UN Regulation, rather than expanding UN Regulation No. 134 (see agenda item 19). She further explained that the plan had been to directly transpose the optional part on LHSS from UN GTR No. 13, with only unavoidable corrections. On the issue of ISO 19887-1:2024, she noted that some members of TF-H2 considered it insufficient for verifying the mechanical integrity and durability of fuel lines used as components of a compressed hydrogen storage system (CHSS) and needed further discussion. Therefore, it had not been included in the proposal brought to this session (informal document GRSP-78-16-Rev.2). This proposal, however, did include Periodical Technical Inspection (PTI) requirements, following France’s suggestion in the previous GRSP session.
36. After an initial introduction by the experts from OICA and France and a subsequent revision of the initial proposals, GRSP adopted informal documents GRSP-78-22-Rev.2 and GRSP-78-16-Rev.2 (as reproduced in annex VII) and requested the secretariat to submit them as proposals for supplement 4 to the 02 series of amendments and supplement 1 to the 03 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 134 to the June 2026 sessions of WP.29 and AC.1.
