8.2. Consistency between the provisions of the 1968 Vienna Convention and the technical provisions for vehicles of UN Regulations and UN GTRs adopted in the framework of the 1958 and 1998 Agreements

101. The Secretary of the Global Forum for Road Traffic Safety (WP.1) reported on the highlights of the October 2025 session of WP.1. The complete report is available on the website of the Global Forum for Road Traffic Safety under the symbol ECE/TRANS/WP.1/193.

102. WP.29 noted that GRE, at its recent session in October 2025, had identified discrepancies between UN Regulation No. 48 and the 1968 Vienna Convention on Road Traffic. WP.29 requested the secretariat to bring these issues to the attention of WP.1 at its next session in March 2026.
