The representative of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland provided an introduction to the Breakthrough Agenda activities on Road Transport (see WP.29-192-14), a global framework launched by world leaders at the twenty-sixth Conference of Parties in Glasgow in 2021, to strengthen international collaboration with the aim to make clean technologies and sustainable solutions the most affordable, accessible and attractive option in key sectors and in all regions by 2030. He gave an overview of the sectors addressed, which included road transport, detailed the five priority actions related to it. He highlighted that two of them mentioned WP.29 (harmonization of existing sustainable battery regulations and the working group on Safer and Cleaner Used and New Vehicles). WP.29 noted with interest this information.
