4.9. Consideration of draft amendments to existing UN Regulations submitted by GRBP

linked to UN R51 Vehicle Noise

102. For agenda item 4.9.1. (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/2023/71), WP.29 called upon the type approval authorities and technical services to start collecting and transmitting data on the Real Driving Additional Sound Emission Provisions (RD-ASEP) as from the previously agreed date 1 July 2023.

101. The World Forum considered draft amendments under agenda items 4.9.1 to 4.9.6 and recommended their submission to AC.1 for voting.

UN R51: Proposal for Supplement 9 to the 03 series of amendments

Amendments clarify the procedure of collection and transmission of data on the Real Driving Additional Sound Emission Provisions (RD-ASEP) which starts on 1 July 2023 – the date that was previously fixed by Supplement 7 to the 03 series of amendments. Because the present document, if approved by WP.29 and AC.1 in June 2023, would enter into force later (around January 2024), the World Forum is also invited to call upon the Type Approval Authorities and Technical Services of Contracting Parties to start, already as of 1 July 2023, the collection and transmission of RD-ASEP data

This proposal (WP.29/2023/71) was adopted by the World Forum. Thirty-two Contracting Parties out of the 50 applying UN R51 were present for the vote by AC.1. Thirty-two voted in favor with zero against and zero abstaining.
