Growing out of an original interest raised by Germany in May 2009, the IGPG informal group is preparing test procedures and performance requirements (e.g. durability, abrasion, weathering, UV stability and chemical resistance) to ensure the safety of plastic glazing for windscreens and laminated plastic panes other than windscreens via amendments to UN Regulation No. 43.

The original timetable called for submission of the new provisions to GRSG by April/May 2013; however, work on wiper tests has complicated the effort and the group now expects to complete its work by April 2014.
