Meeting report documenting discussions on proposed amendments to the driver drowsiness alert warning (DDAW) system regulation. Topics addressed include: clarification of warning acknowledgement and continued monitoring; mandatory microsleep detection as a distinct safety-critical event; expanded operating conditions for system effectiveness; interaction between DDAW and Driver Control Assistance Systems (DCAS); system performance under driver occlusions such as eyewear; drowsiness warning thresholds and advisory information; false negative event classification methodology; test participant selection and validation procedures; specificity and positive predictive value as performance metrics; and Observer Rated Drowsiness (ORD) as an alternative to KSS measurement. The IWG discussed these proposals to inform development of a 01 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 182.

General guidance for drafting the baseline document on artificial intelligence in the automotive sector. The document emphasizes focusing revision on green text in AI-11-03, using change requests for substantive modifications processed during IWG plenary sessions, and integrating successful requests into a single master document. Four sections are addressed: Introduction (AAPC lead) to clarify purpose and scope; AI Uses & Benefits (OICA/CLEPA lead) to provide intuitive understanding and define terms; Risks (modifications by change request); and Risk Management (China and EME leads) to clarify operationalization in certification regimes while maintaining agreement-neutral, conceptual language at reference document level, avoiding prescriptive guidance.
Draft minutes of the 77th session of the Informal Working Group on Wet Grip of Worn Tyres held on 28 October 2026. The group reviewed and discussed preliminary conclusions from data analysis on test precision for worn tyre wet grip testing, including comments from JASIC and ETRTO. Discussion covered whether the obtained dispersion level of 0.071 is sufficient, the appropriateness of test campaign methodology, and the feasibility of achieving precision levels comparable to new tyre wet grip testing given the intrinsic variability from candidate tyre buffing and aquaplaning effects.
Draft proposal for new car-to-pedestrian night time requirements for the 03 series of amendments. The document outlines specific requirements for C2P at night applicable to M₁ and N₁ vehicles, including crossing scenarios on any side with illumination of 19±3 lux, collision points at 50%, adult dummies, and activation speeds of 20–60 km/h. Test procedures for warning and activation with pedestrian targets at night are specified. Changes to chapters 5 and 6 are required. Timeline shows informal document for January 2027 GRVA, working document for June 2027 GRVA with March 2027 deadline, working document for March 2028 WP.29, entry into force September 2028, and transitional provisions of 2–3 years.
