58. The Chair of the IWG on International Whole Vehicle Type Approval (IWVTA) presented the outcome of the forty-eighth session of the group, hosted in Brussels on 19 June 2025 (WP.29-196-20).

59. He highlighted the content (WP.29-196-22) of the proposed 08 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 0 (IWVTA), with an update to Annex 4 and the removal of the provisions on Unique Identifier (UI) and the Declaration of Conformance (DoC).

60. He explained that the IWG started considering amendments to the General Guidelines on Transitional Provisions to improve clarity.

61. He reported on the new approach explored by the group to simplify the Limited-IWVTA concept to increase the attractiveness of IWVTA.

62. The representative of OICA called for participations from more Contracting Parties in the sessions of the IWG on IWVTA, since IWVTA was an adequate instrument to promote the WP29 activities and to encourage other countries to join the 1958 Agreement.
