For fitness of UN Regulations and UN GTRs for Automated Driving Systems (ADS), the representative of France (WP.29-195-16) reported on the progress made on the three horizontal topics (Categories X/Y and scope of Regulations; non-dynamic driving tasks of the driver and communication with ADS users). The representative of Japan noted that it would not hinder the expected schedule of the ADS-IWG.

15. WP.29 welcomed the ongoing progress, agreed with the suggestions presented on how to address the three topics and stressed the importance of coordination with IWG on ADS. WP.29 invited the representative of France to present the next status report on these three activities.
