47. During the consultations, the experts reviewed the proposal (GRVA-22-16) tabled by the expert from China on provisions for Door Opening Warning systems. The experts recalled similar discussions at GRSG noting the lack of maturity of the technology. The expert from China clarified that, since this initial discussion seven years ago, the situation had changed with regards to maturity and experience as the Chinese market had a penetration rate of ten per cent with regards to this technology.

48. GRVA noted previous discussions at GRSG (GRSG-118-08) on this matter and recommended to continue the discussion at GRSG.

49. As discussed during the consultations, GRVA:

  1. endorsed a progress report (GRVA-22-27) of the TF on Advanced Driver Assistant Systems (ADAS);
  2. adopted ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRVA/2025/29 (amended by GRVA-22-17) proposing a standalone guidance document on data exchange via DETA in accordance with paragraph 7.2.2.2. of UN Regulation No. 171 on Driver-Control Assistance Systems (DCAS);
  3. adopted ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRVA/2025/30 (amended by GRVA-22-18) on the same topic (see item (b) above) as draft supplement to the original version and the 01 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 171 (DCAS) and requested the secretariat to submit them to WP.29 and AC.1 for consideration and vote in November 2025;
  4. adopted ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRVA/2025/31 proposing a supplement to the original version of UN Regulation No. 171 (DCAS), removing references to system-initiated manoeuvres from the original version and requested submitted them to WP.29 and AC.1 for consideration and vote in November 2025.
