23. GRSP noted GRSP-51-09 proposing to increase the strap acceleration to 3 g to prevent the locking phenomena during the buckling up of the safety-belts. However, some GRSP experts questioned the real impact on safety of this proposal and asked further justification. GRSP agreed to resume consideration on this subject at its December 2012 session on the basis of a revised proposal prepared by the expert from CLEPA. 24. GRSP considered GRSP-51-14, tabled by the expert from OICA, proposing to align the text of the UN Regulation No. 16 with the air-bag label provisions recently introduced into UN Regulation No. 94 (frontal collision). The proposal received some comments such as whether it was better to reproduce the whole text of these requirements (present into the UN Regulation No. 94) rather than refer to their paragraph numbers. GRSP agreed to resume discussion on this agenda item at its December 2012 session on the basis of a revised proposal tabled by the expert from OICA. |
