The Chair of the Task Force on Autonomous Vehicle Signalling Requirements (TF AVSR) presented their progress report (GRE-91-13) and briefly introduced a revised amendment proposal for UN Regulation No. 48 to cater for automated driving systems (ADS) (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRE/2023/9/Rev.3). He pointed out that, in view of the recent comments (GRE-91-10), TF AVSR would update the proposal for the next session. He also mentioned draft amendments to UN Regulation No. 45 to make it suitable for ADS vehicles (GRE-91-11) which would be submitted as a working document to the next session.

36. GRE noted that the finalization of the above amendment proposal for UN Regulation No. 48 would require the inclusion of new subcategories of ADS vehicles in the Consolidated Resolution on the Construction of Vehicles (R.E.3.). GRE was informed about the status of this work under the Working Parties on General Safety Provisions (GRSG) and on Automated/Autonomous and Connected Vehicles (GRVA).
