19. The Chair of the informal group on Retrofit Emission Control devices (REC) reported on the good progress made by the group during its recent meetings (GRPE-62-12). He explained the group’s decision to handle, for the purpose of type approval, such REC devices with the different levels of stringency. He listed the remaining issues still under discussion. The expert from Germany underlined the need that REC devices should be clearly identified by a specific marking. 20. GRPE agreed on a general approach to set up new provisions for such devices with two or more alternatives representing different levels of performances. GRPE noted that the informal group’s intention to meet again in Ispra (Italy) in September 2011. The GRPE Chair invited the REC group to also meet in conjunction with the next session of GRPE in January 2012. |
