112. The representative of Germany reported on the good progress made by the informal group on WMTC at its meeting in September 2010. He added that the work regarding the insertion of limit values into the gtr was close to an agreement and that a formal proposal together with a draft corrigendum on the gear shifting procedure would be considered by GRPE at its January 2011 session. AC.3 supported in principle this proposal.
The representative of Japan informed AC.3 that the procedure by his country to transpose the gtr into the national legislation had been concluded in October 2010. He added that the corresponding notification to the Secretary-General was in preparation.
The representative of the EU reported on the ongoing process to adopt new EU legislation on motorcycles.
India informed the World Forum that his country was also in the process of transposing the gtr on WMTC.
The secretariat reminded the government delegates that when a gtr was adopted or [rejected] at the national/regional level, this decision should be notified in accordance with Article 7 of the 1998 Agreement through the usual e-mail procedure. It was also recalled that, until such a final decision, Contracting Parties shall provide a report on the status of the incorporation of the gtr into national/regional law. AC.3 noted that the status of the 1998 Agreement documents (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/1073/Rev.3, and its Addenda 1 and 2) contained all this information.
87. Agenda item 16.5, gtr No. 2, worldwide harmonized Motorcycle emission Test Cycle (WMTC). The representative of Germany reported that the work regarding the insertion of limit values into the gtr was not yet concluded, but close to an agreement. He informed AC.3 that the informal group would hold a further meeting in September 2010 to finalize the formal proposal, for consideration by GRPE at its January 2011 session and for a possible adoption by AC.3 at its June 2011 session.
